Lent is upon us, a time for spiritual renewal through prayer, penance and almsgiving. At Holy Rosary, we have many opportunities to journey through the season together:
FISH FRY FRIDAYS
On all the Fridays of Lent, February 16 through March 23, Caplinger’s Fresh Catch Seafood Market will cater fish dinners from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Priori Hall. Click here to learn more.
CATHOLIC MEN’S CONFERENCE
All men are invited to participate in our first Catholic Men’s Conference at Holy Rosary on Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In conjunction, there will be an optional Men’s Retreat on Friday March 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Learn more at www.HolyRosaryConferences.org.
The parish has purchased a subscription to FORMED, an amazing website from the Augustine Institute that will help you learn and grow spiritually this Lent and throughout the year. We are offering our parishioners access to this subscription at no cost. On this site are many e-books, movies, video studies, an audio Bible and other audio books, testimonies and inspiring talks. They even have an app so that you can have spiritual food available with just one click, anytime and anywhere. It is like an Amazon Prime or Netflix but Catholic and entirely faithful to the Magisterium. To learn how to access our subscription, read Father McCarthy’s article on Page 4 of the February 11 bulletin or contact the parish office.
LENTEN SECOND COLLECTIONS
Almsgiving is recognized by the Church as one of the principal forms of penance. To help facilitate this practice among the faithful, we will take up a second collection every Sunday of Lent:
• February 18 – Black & Indian Missions;
• February 25 – Catholic Radio Indy;
• March 4 – Easter Flowers for the parish;
• March 11 – Catholic Relief Services;
• March 18 – to help offset the cost of the parish’s FORMED subscription;
• March 25 – Holy Places.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Every Friday of Lent, excluding Good Friday, we will pray the Way of the Cross after the Masses at 7:30 a.m. (Ordinary Form) and 5:45 p.m. (Extraordinary Form).
40 DAYS FOR LIFE
The spring campaign begins Ash Wednesday and continues through Palm Sunday, March 25. The peaceful prayer vigil outside the Planned Parenthood facility at 86th Street and Georgetown Road will be conducted from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and from noon to 7 p.m. Sundays. Holy Rosary has volunteered to pray on Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; for more information or to sign up, visit www.40daysindy.org or contact Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
OUR lady of the most holy rosary, pray for us!
